Our cafe will be serving food to eat on site or take-away from 10am - 4pm (5pm on Friday).
The cafe is run by Simon Desmond who owns and runs Tarragon Lion Fine Food. Simon has worked for two decades in some of the country’s finest food establishments including The Griffin Inn (Fletching), The River Cafe (London), Ballymaloe House (Cork) and his own restaurant at The Oak Charing (Kent) where he was awarded an ‘AA’ Rosette for his food.
The company is registered with Lewes District Council and holds an ‘Excellent’ rating… in ‘Scores on the Door’ terms that’s a maximum of five stars!
Simon uses local food and produce and where possible uses vegetables and produce from the farmland and estate surrounding the Christmas Barn.
Because of COVID-19 we are having to do things slightly differently this year.
Food will be served in takeaway boxes - street food style. The usual hot drinks and cake will also be available to buy. We are very sorry not to be able to run our normal in-house café, but want to ensure that we keep all customers and staff safe and well.
All the café food will be served in disposable food cartons.
The "café" will be outdoor based and the barn will be well ventilated - so please do wrap up warm! Remember hats, scarves, gloves etc - your winter woollies.
